by Madison and Luke
Aunt Karen posted this picture slideshow she obtained of the 10th Mountain in Afghanistan. The pictures are a collection from 2006 (click on the play arrow on the bottom left side of the picture to watch it and make sure your sound is turned on...it's set to music). Uncle Clay, who is part of the 3-71 Cavalry of the 10th Mountain, has been in country for 15 months now, and we are praying he and all of the men of 3rd Brigade get to come home soon.
We are very, very proud of Uncle Clay and all of the soldiers serving our country (that includes Daddy too). We can't wait to see Uncle Clay; in fact, Luke can't wait to meet him! We miss him very much and are glad he and Aunt Karen will be PCSing (permanent change of station... a.k.a. moving by the Army's orders) to Arizona at the end of the summer. It's been hard on everyone having Uncle Clay gone, and sadly, we know that Daddy will have his turn to deploy in the probable near future.
Stay safe Uncle Clay. We miss you a lot. Word is you may get to come home near Madison's birthday, which would be the best birthday present anyone could imagine!
