Perhaps the most beautiful time of the day here at YPG is at night. You can't see the desert (which might be a good thing!), but you can see ALL of the BEAUTIFUL stars. Plus, unless it's night week with the C-130 flying overhead constantly or a bombing week where the weapons are being blown up for testing, it's absolutely silent on the post at night. Well, we do get the 10:00 PM "Day is Done" reveille each night on the bugle. That I love to hear as I look at the stars.

A Starry Night
While Jennifer was here visiting, she and Edward decided to take pictures one night. They drove out to the post entrance for these. Our post is totally in the desert, and mountains surround it. You drive forever on a state highway before turning off, and the turnoff is marked with two of these huge guns/cannons and the palm trees.

On the drive in, there are several tanks and weapons on display. Each thing on display has been tested here at YPG.
