Enjoying 2008

by Madison and Luke

Happy New Year to everyone! We have been enjoying some of our Christmas gifts over the last week. Wednesday, Grandma and Grandpa came over for a visit; they wanted to check out our new toys. They were also here to watch us a little and help Mommy with a couple of projects. As usual, we had a nice time with them. Here's what we accomplished:

Mommy has been wanting to recover the dining room chairs for awhile. Daddy wanted to help pick out the fabric, so they were able to pick some out over Christmas. With Grandma's help, the chairs were recovered!

Old fabric-Our seven-year-old dining room chairs have taken a beating with kids and cats.

Bear is checking out this whole process

Ta-da! This is the finished product. Daddy didn't really like this pattern when Mommy picked it out, but she hated all of the ones he was picking out. Daddy has since decided he really likes the pattern, and it looks very patriotic with the "colonial blue" and star pattern. It looks a little like the American Flag.

Grandpa took on his own project. He really enjoys sewing and hemming clothing. Between Mommy and Daddy, they had three pairs of pants for Grandpa to hem.

Madison hard at work on her project

Madison's project involved lining up the Little People around the edge of her toybox.
