Edward's New Clinic

The new health clinic for the post had its grand opening today. For over a year, it has been under construction/renovation, meaning that since we arrived, Edward has been working out of a medical clinic in a portable trailer-type building. The new clinic is really, really nice. I guess four million dollars will do that :)

The clinic is huge, which is great for such a small post, and houses Edward, the PA, head nurse, several medics, along with a pharmacy, x-ray office, procedure room, vaccination room, triage room, and all of the offices, meeting rooms, records, etc. that go along with any clinic.

Edward's office is a work-in-progress due to his interior decorator's (that would be me) time constraints. It already looks much better than anything in his old office...pics of it to come.

Here's the exterior of the clinic. Pictures don't do it justice. It's really clean, new, and spacious.

It's a much closer commute for Edward, too. While the portable trailer building was maybe a quarter of a mile from the house, this is half of that, so maybe an eighth of a mile from the house...you could about throw a football from our yard to the clinic :) It will make his morning and evening commute so much easier...question is whether to walk, bike, or drive?? The kids and I will have to haul up there for their well-kid checkups too. Hopefully, none of us run into traffic :) Actually, the only thing we'll run into are neighbors outside with whom we'll end up talking to forever instead of getting to our appointments.

Sounds like a rough commute... makes my 10 miles in 20 minutes look quick! :-) Can't wait to see it in person. Hope you guys are enjoying your visit with mom and dad. Talk to you soon!
