Swimming Lessons

Madison has been taking swimming lessons for the last two weeks here at YPG. Lessons are each day for 45 minutes, and they walk the kids over from preschool for their lessons. At the end of the first two-week session, the kids have swim tests to determine if they will move onto the next swim lesson level. Madison did well with her first round of lessons (after coaxing her into the colder water), ending them by jumping off the diving board and doggie paddling over to the side of the pool-great progress for a just-turned-four-year-old. She also loved going down the twirly slide at the post pool too (we have a really nice pool here!). She has now started the level two lessons, which will go for another two weeks. She's the only girl in the level two lessons and the youngest kid too (not that we're worried...if you know Madison, she can hold her own!). There are four levels of swim lessons, but because of the summer schedule here, there' almost no way to get through all four levels in a summer. That's okay, as she's doing great and can continue lessons next summer too.

This kid LOVES the water...I think we might have a swimmer on our hands. Edward and I never thought we'd have to look for a subdivision with a pool for our next move, but after our kids get used to a pool down the street, it might be a requirement!

Yes, it can be "cold" even in Arizona...not really, but with almost no humidity, it is actually a little chilly when you first get out of the pool. Then, the 110 degrees hits ya, and you warm up pretty quickly.
