Visitors from the East-Part Two

My little brother, Clay (while he's been much taller than me for years!!!), and his wife, Karen, flew out from Raleigh, North Carolina. Uncle Clay and Aunt Karen were very excited to see their niece and nephews.

Practicing...Clay and Karen are expecting a baby boy in late October. They were able to practice a little with Alex this weekend. I even made Clay change Alex's diaper, something new for him.

Karen seemed to enjoy practicing too :)

They came bearing gifts, as here's Luke with part of his dress-up costume on. He loves hats, and I was very impressed they found one to fit his head.

Yeah, this doesn't quite fit the Army standard, Clay. I guess when you are on leave, anything goes??? They brought Madison a dress-up rock star costume. She loved it, as dress-up is pretty big at our house. Clay, just don't bring her a burka from Afghanistan :)

We spent the 4th of July at the pool here on post. While many would think the pool would have been packed, most of the post took off for San Diego, and we had the pool almost to ourselves. It was really nice.

Luke has made a lot of progress this summer in the pool, much thanks to this Cars float he won at the Company Pool Party.

Hang ten! While blurry, you can see Luke loves to fly through the air. Edward has a blast with this.

Alex had a first-his first time in the pool! I love his swim outfit. I was so excited to find swim trunks in a newborn size, all thanks to Carters.

Swimming with my girl-after awhile of treading water on her own, Madison opted for her floaties for awhile.

Luke looks like he's in pain or something, but he had a great time.

Tired

Madison discarded her floaties once again to go off the diving board. Her swim class has been working on this, and she LOVES the diving board.

They've made a lot of progress with her. She can swim over to the side from the diving board.

I caught Clay in a great action shot as he came down the water slide. Great form, Clay.

And, into the pool he went.

Back to the diving area...Madison looks like she's in competition.

The only other family to show up at the pool were some friends of ours. Their son is in Madison's class, and their twin girls are in Luke's class. All the kids had fun playing together for awhile before we left. All in all, we were there about three hours. And, in 110+, that's a tiresome day at the pool!

Clay and Karen, thanks for flying out here to see us. We had a great visit with you and hope we didn't scare you out of parenthood :) Enjoy your vacation in San Diego. We can't wait to meet our newest nephew/cousin and hope to see you again before Clay deploys.
