San Diego

The kids and I took off to San Diego for a couple days away from well, everything. I took the kids to our favorite spot, the Naval Lodge, where we stayed overnight. We met up with my longtime friend, Carin, who lives between San Diego and Los Angeles. She helped me tame the wild ones, and together, we took my zoo to the zoo.

Luke remembered the pathway from the hotel down to the beach.

Both remembered the playground on the beach.

Temps were great when we arrived...around 72 at 4:30. However, it gets dark really early, and by 5:00 is was totally dark.

Beautiful Coronado

The zoo was pretty empty when we visited because it rained most of the time we were there. It wasn't a hard rain to keep us soaked, but it was just enough of an annoyance. Luckily, the animals like the rain, and we found the panda sleeping in this tree.

Strange-looking camels

We thought the sit very strangely. We waited to see if he would stand up just to see how he folds to bottom of his feet under him, but apparently, he felt like it was a nice, lazy afternoon to sit around.

Luke enjoyed the animals.

But, his early morning which started at 6:00 started to get the better of him.

Madison is now obsessed with riding in the stroller again since I have a new stroller.

We did coax her out after awhile.

She thought this was really funny.
