When Daddies are Away...

Edward left Saturday very early for two weeks at Ft. Lewis, Washington. He's participating in the EFMB (Expert Field Medical Badge) Course. While he has to camp out in the field for two weeks in Washington's winter weather, I still think he has the easier job of the two of us. Since two of my other friends' husbands were gone for the weekend, we, along with five kids ages three and under, decided to have dinner. We barely survived, and the house is still recovering :)

Here they are...the crew demanding their dinner...Luke (1 1/2), Emmett (1 1/2), Gracie (3 1/2), Madison (3 1/2), and "Baby" Kate (1). And...my house (it looks nice and clean, but by dinner's end, it wasn't!).

Originally, we had planned for an exciting night out at the on-post bowling alley for dinner (note the sarcasm...it's not that exciting). Then, Amy called and said she had free tickets for an authentic smoked BBQ the 4-H Club was doing and volunteered to drive into town and get the free food. That turned out to be MUCH better than anything we could have gotten at the bowling alley. Our impromptu get-together turned into a really nice evening.
