All packed and ready to load (the blue bags are our new ones we bought in NC after the airline did a few of ours in). THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES Mom and Dad for the use of your minivan for a week! We really appreciate it, and the trip would not have been as easy without it. The kids loved the two DVD players!!!
Now, some might have said to get a three-way flight...well, my parents had carseats so we didn't have to bring ours from Arizona....not that the trip to bordering state, Tennessee, was that easy. I-40 was closed in North Carolina due to a rock slide in November. We had to detour to Wytheville, Virgina to get to Knoxville. The drive, too, wasn't quick-10 hours, but thankfully our kids are great travelers.
The kids did get to see snow on the trip, so that was a HUGE plus for these desert kids.
