Ahh, yes, it's that time of year again. We've said good-bye to our cold water. One of the most interesting things about desert life is just how hot the tap water is. After arriving here last summer, we thought there was something wrong with our faucets and water supply because the water was hot and really hot...sadly, no. That's the water. It's so hot here that the water as it sits and travels through the pipes doesn't get cold at all. We've noticed it "going" over the last couple of weeks, and I can report all cold water is now completely gone. Showers and baths must be readjusted because the normal setting is now way too hot. I guess that's what a week of 105+ will do.
So long cold water...see you in November.
Oh, and if you're wondering what that does for drinking it, we don't. We're not supposed to drink the water here anyways due to the high levels of arsenic and lead in it. We have a water cooler jug, much like you would see in an office. Most everyone has one or something similar. That water is nice and COLD!
