We started our second day in San Francisco with a visit to the John Muir State Preserve/Park. It was a beautiful Redwood Park, and we all had a nice morning walking around. The kids were shocked at the size of the trees.

...and tripping. Seriously, this kid broke his foot here at home??
This was their "house" where they were sleeping.
Then, we drove just down the road to the John Muir beach. It was beautiful, peaceful, and a nice, quiet beach.
We all dared to stick our feet in the water. It was cold like Maine.
Just a few seconds after this, Luke tripped, falling into the water. It's a good thing I carry extra clothing in the car. He was shocked at how cold he was from the water.
Then, we drove just a little further again to see if we could get better pictures of the "big bridge" as the kids called it.
Luke and Alex fell asleep on the short drive from the beach, so Madison and I took some pictures.

Love all the pictures, what a fun trip. So glad you guys get to enjoy the west coast some. We camped at a place similar to this a few years back (when Spencer was an infant), called Big Basin. It had tons of huge redwwods and stuff. We were in CA for 10 days for my brothers wedding, and saw much of the same sights. It is one on my favorite vacations we have done as a family. So fun!
