The Peanut Patch

This morning, we decided to go on a little outing into town. If you know about where we live, any trip into town is a real outing, as it take anywhere from 30-45 minutes to get anywhere in Yuma due to the Army post being so far out in the desert. Anyways, we had heard about a local store called "The Peanut Patch" and decided to check it out. We've been meaning to go there for some time, and today was the day. "The Peanut Patch" is a local market selling a lot of homemade products. They specialize in anything peanut. We enjoyed our little market visit, and we topped it off with lunch at a local place, "Brown Bag Burger." Yes, there's not much to do in Yuma, but we are glad we stumbled upon this cute little shop.
This is what we ended up purchasing...minus the large jar of homemade salsa that already went into the fridge. We bought a pound of homemade peanut butter, peanut brittle, chocolate covered peanuts, and a pound and a half of fudge (buy a pound, get a half pound free). Yummy all around. The peanut butter is pretty good, but it definitely takes a little getting used to fresh stuff is you are used to Jif or similar.
And, like many places in Yuma, "The Peanut Patch" is seasonal and will close for the "season" in April, just in time for the heat.
