I sit here at 12:32 AM Pacific Time...making it 3:32 AM for most of you. A horrible storm just awakened me....yes, a storm! This is the second nasty storm this week. The first was on Monday when Edward was away at Ft. Irwin, California for a couple of days. Monday's storm included no rain, only 65 mile hour winds and a MAJOR sand storm. The cars and everything else possible were covered in sand.
Tonight, we are actually getting rain! The 70 mile hour, yes I said 70, just awoke me from my slumber. The palm trees bending in strange ways remind me of the hurricanes in Florida and seeing our palm trees blowing hard there. The force of the wind right now is incredible. The storm is horrible with it raining horizontally. We actually have a "Dust Storm Warning."
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED A DUST STORM WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM MST /2 AM PDT/ FRIDAY.
NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS CAN BE EXPECTED OVER YUMA COUNTY THROUGH 200 AM THIS MORNING. THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL PRODUCE WIND IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH...LARGE HAIL...VERY HEAVY RAIN... AND BLOWING DUST. MOTORISTS ON INTERSTATE 8 IN SOUTHWEST ARIZONA SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR HIGH WINDS AND VISIBILITIES REDUCED TO ZERO. ALSO WATCH FOR FLOODING OF NORMALLY DRY CREEKS AND WASHES.
In pulling up the storm online, it's HUGE extending east of Phoenix. Our weather comes from the east instead of the west. Phoenix is three hours away. Weather.com had a cool map.
Well, I've now been in blizzards, freezing temps, tornadoes, hurricanes, tropical storms, and now dust storms...awesome.

Gotta love it! Hope you got some sleep...
Fun stuff! We are going to St. George next week and there are some storms out in the ocean, just like your vacation last year.
