If you counted, that is a total of seven, and the minivan seats seven. Add to that mix of seven, four are in carseats, two of which are rear-facing. It posed for some challenges...
Before we left, Luke had fit in the car, and Karen (the adult in the car at the time) couldn't figure out what was wrong. I walked out of the house to see this: Kota, his new dino was on the ground. Luke had dropped him and was really upset we'd run over him. Kota did make the trip.
Our load-the only way this worked was to put Luke in the middle with Alex (rear-facing). In the third row, we put Wes (rear-facing) behind Luke. We moved Luke's seat all the way up to accomodate Wes. Karen had to sit in the middle, and Madison was on the side. Mer and I rode up front.
Ocotillo Cactus right off postDesert Botanical Garden-This place was really neat and very interesting. It was almost too hot already in the season to go there. I think I'd go back in January or something.
The boys had a blast. I was excited to use my collection of strollers during their visit. Several people asked if they were twins.
UGGH! This pictures still grosses me out. Luke had to use the restroom, so I sent the group ahead while I took Luke to the bathroom. On the way back to the group, Luke and I stumpled upon this HUGE snake. The trail in this spot was abotu five feet wide. I never saw the snake's head, nor did I ever see its tail. It was THAT long. I screamed. Yuck. I HATE snakes.
There was a butterfly exhibit on display. The kids really enjoyed this.

We had a really good day in Phoenix, even with four kids four and under. We even at lunch at Macayos, Karen's favorite childhood Mexican restaurant. Karen grew up in Phoenix for ten years, and she seemed to really enjoy seeing some of her old areas. Plus, that yummy lunch gave me a new restaurant chain to eat at while in Phoenix. Thanks for coming Mer, Karen, and Wes. We LOVED having you, but the three hour car ride home was a little loney without the adults :)
