Dozers

We really like construction vehicles, and we've really had some excitement with them recently. Just in the past two weeks, things have exploded in our subdivision. For the last two years, the builder has said no more homes were going to be built, and the subdivision would be left somewhat unfinished. However, two weeks ago, the bulldozers started rolling in and wow, have things changed. Six new home sites have been cleared, leveled, and graded awaiting final permits. And, the unfinished front of our subdivision has been under a complete remodel.

In all of this, our love of bulldozers and other construction equipment has turned into a fascination. The dozers begin each morning at 7AM sharp and finish at 5PM sharp. During those hours, we both have to continually check on the status of the dozers. Whenever we get into the car to go somewhere, we have Mommy drive around the subdivision on a "dozer search." We have to do the same thing when we return from running errands. It's kept both of us quite interested and occupied. We love to be outside and have spent a LOT of time watching the dozers over the last few days.

Luke is all set for another walk to watch the dozers. Oh, Mommy does comb Luke's hair everyday, but you know, Luke's a boy, so for him, his hair is not a priority. It's looked pretty wild and crazy lately, especially with the wind we've had the last couple of days.

Some things don't change...a walk isn't complete without a drink and a snack.

We both LOVE this machine. The back of it is full of dirt, and the operator lowers the back once the machine has reached its destination. Then, a lever is released and the dirt comes out the bottom. We actually stopped and watched this machine at work for over 20 minutes on today's walk (seriously, the mailman was pulling into the subdivision when we stopped and was driving out as we continued on our walk...there are 82 lots in here-a lot of house in which to deliver mail!). Oh, and Daddy, that's the spot Mommy was telling you about where they knocked down the trees to "join" our subdivison to the new one.

While the backyard is our normal playground, it doesn't have the visibility of the dozers. Our fence is in the way. But, since Mommy has been working in the gardens, we have HAD to play in the backyard some. At least we can still hear the dozers from the backyard.

Speaking of gardening, Mommy found some gardening gloves for me! To make it even better, they are Dora the Explorer gardening gloves. Good find at Lowes, Mommy!

While we've literally spent the last two days almost completely outside, we do have to come inside to get food and such. In the few minutes it took Mommy to get our dinner on our plates, Luke managed to create a clean-up project for Mommy. Madison's Easter basket is already out because she had an egg hunt at school today.
