Easter might be a week away, but we kicked off Holy Week with an Easter Egg hunt at church. Of course, in classic fashion, the camera battery died after Mommy took two pictures. So, we didn't get any of the actual egg hunt. That's just as well because the hunt didn't take long. With as many kids as there were, it was a fight to the finish! We did find a few eggs and really got into the spirit of the season.
Luke enjoyed the hunt from the recline of his stroller. He's so hard to hold and squirms out of any position!
These are from the egg hunt at church...notice, Mommy even had on coordinating yellow outfits-not an easy feat for a girl/boy combo!
Then, this afternoon, Nolan came over to dye Easter Eggs. We'd never done that before and really enjoyed it. Last year, Luke was born the day before Easter, so we missed out on the egg hunt at church (the day he was born) and since Daddy was gone (again) and Mommy was so sick from Luke, we didn't do any Easter crafts.

What's a Easter party without the Reese's Easter Egg candies?
Delicious!

Who needs to dye eggs when you can just kick back, relax, and have a snack?
Still working...
Snack is over...I want OUT!

Once Luke put an end to craft time, Nolan and Madison decided to do the same. Time in the sandbox was much more their style.
Our finished eggs-not too bad for first-timers!
*****Disclaimer*****Mommy does NOT approve of this fashion statement. Madison seems to have forgotten what it means to wear sandals (even though these particular sandals are from last summer). They are freaking her out a little this year because she's convinced she needs to wear socks with any shoes. This is despite seeing Mommy with sandals. She's also freaked out by capri pants, claiming they are baby/Luke's pants because they are "too small." This includes the pink pants and pants with ruffles, etc. She'll tell Mommy, "Baby [she calls Mommy baby sometimes as a nice nickname] they are Lukie's pants. They are too small for me." To top it off, literally, she's obsessed with her undershirts and can't imagine not wearing them...Mommy believes a couple of days in the hot Arizona desert will kick that obsession. We HAD to take our walk looking like this.
After our evening walk (yes, Nana, we were on a walk when you called), we settled in for dinner. Our biggest change at the table is the absence of Luke's highchair. Since the house is going up for sale next week, Luke's booster seat was pulled out of the car for use at the table. It's now a perfect match to Madison's booster. Here, Madison is helping Luke put his tray on. Neither of us know exactly what Luke has on his shirt...maybe drool?? He's getting a few more teeth in right now.
Yea! Bring on dinner! However, PLEASE, Mommy get me a different placemat. I'm NOT into Disney princess!
Who knew a beef roast, rice, and peas could excite anyone this much (well, we both LOVE peas)?

Looks like fun. We are going to dye eggs when we get back home from Tennessee. I also get to go to two Easter egg hunts so I am looking forward to that.
Love,
John
