Happy 1st Birthday Luke!

One year ago at 5:24 AM, Luke Christopher joined our family. It was an awful pregnancy that kept me extremely sick the whole time, but absolutely worth it. In addition, Edward was gone the last six weeks of the pregnancy, getting home the night before Luke was born...which he actually drove straight through to get home a day early-good thing. Luke arrived at 37 weeks, 1 day at 8 lbs. 5 oz. Yes, my dates were right. Apparently, I have kids early (Madison arrived at 38 weeks, 1 day). I thought Luke was a big baby, despite my doctor thinking he was around seven pounds. Then, during delivery, I was told I wasn't pushing hard enough, and I should be able to do a better job since this was my second kid...then, they discovered he was OP, or face up, and everything changed. Babies aren't supposed to be face up, and that was causing a lot of problems. My doctor made a quick decision, a vacuum, or Luke was going to be an emergency c-section if the vacuum didn't work. Luckily, the vacuum worked, and Luke entered this world just after 5AM. While he wasn't nice to his mom in many ways during pregnancy, I did manage to gain only 15 lbs., including the 8lbs. 5 oz. of Luke :)

Luke has been such a blessing and joy to our lives. Despite a difficult pregnancy, he's been a great baby, very laid back. He's so different from Madison, and they are both loved beyond belief.

Sleeping-7:30 PM until 7 AM

He is able to drink regular milk! He couldn't tolerate regular formula, so he's been on soy, but after a two-week transition, he's okay with regular milk.
