Luke enjoyed helping Grandma mow the grass. This is definitely something he doesn't get to do in Arizona.
While this looks like a boquet of fresh flowers, it's actually a stupid pot my brother has had...forever...I guess. Anyways, the dumb flowers actually sing and dance when you activate them. Both kids were in love with them during the trip. My sister has the same flower pot in her classroom, and apparently her fifth graders love it too.

Off to Fort Bragg
One day, the kids and I drove over to Ft. Bragg to visit some friends. It's about two hours from my parents' house. Our first stop was with our good friends, Juli, Bryce, Nolan, and Clara. Edward and Bryce worked together at the hospital. Bryce is a year behind Edward in residency, and so they are getting ready to find out where they will move next. We met their newest addition, Clara, who was born just after we moved. Madison and Nolan are great buddies and have missed each other very much.
Two buddies reunited...Madison and Nolan ask about each other all the time.
Then, we ventured down the road to our old subdivision, where we drove past our old house. Madison thought that was pretty fun. We were also able to see her good friend, Kalea, along with Kalea's sister and mom. If I'd have realized Madison had her eyes closed, I'd have taken another picture. Both girls really enjoyed playing together.
For anyone who ever visited our old house, there used to be a huge field adjacent to the subdivision. Prior to our moving, the fields were cleared, leveled, and you could tell a subdivision was coming. They've moved fast, and here's what it's looking like five months later. This picture was taken coming from the Shell Station heading toward the entrance to Planter's Walk.

Raleigh
Another day, the kids and I drove up to Raleigh to visit another friend, Jen, and her kids, Cassandra and Julianne. Jen and I have been friends for about five years or so. We met while both living in Ft. Lauderdale. On this day, we met at the mall where it's become a tradition to take the kids to Build A Bear. The kids and I got there early (Cassandra was being picked up from preschool), so we had lunch in the food court at McDonalds (oh yum...), but the highlight had to be their stupid ride in this ice cream truck. We see this thing all the time at different malls, and they are obsessed with it.
Once we reunited at Build-A-Bear, the kids quickly decided they all wanted to make a moose. There were two different moose from which to choose, a girl and a boy.
Neither Julianne nor Luke seemed too interested. Both were more interested in snacks.

All done...this store is tiresome!
Just so everyone gets an idea of the chaos of shopping with four kids three and under...Gymboree...somehow, we both find it easier to shop online!

Back to Wilmington
Last Saturday, Aunt Karen and Uncle Clay, along with Aunt Mer and Uncle Harry came over to visit. Since this will be our only visit until after NEXT Christmas, we were glad to see everyone. Aunt Karen and Madison enjoyed looking at pictures of "Baby Madison."
Aunt Mer and Uncle Harry came bearing Christmas gifts.
Luke was quite interested in the wrapping paper.
"Santa" made an impulse purchase at the register while visiting the Disney Store...not to know that these stupid cups are a favorite with my kids.
Madison's princess pack was a great gift too.
Luke really just wanted to chew on his cup.
