We Made It

Well, the first couple parts of our East Coast trip are over. The flight is over, thank goodness. Things went okay, but six hours on a plane with a three year old and 19-month old is nuts. Edward put in a stronger form of Benadryl script for Luke, and wouldn't you know it, Benadryl has NO effect on him (either that, or this was Edward's idea of a nice "joke" on me :) Instead of sleeping for 2-4 hours, as it was prescribed, Luke was awake all six hours, despite the flight being during naptime. We had a connection in Houston, but lucky us, we had time to get off the plane, collect our stroller, RUN from the end of one terminal to the end of another, where they were already boarding our flight. We made the flight, but had no time for food, which was a bummer, since it was dinnertime. I had packed lunchables, which I have never given the kids, so they ate some of those as their "dinner," but lunchables didn't sound too hot to me. We arrived in Raleigh at 10:30 PM, which wasn't too bad because it was really like 8:30 for the kids, just a little past bedtime. Luke threw a major fit before takeoff in Phoenix, and then Madison threw a MAJOR, MAJOR fit during the Houston to Raleigh flight. She wanted to stand in the aisle and kick at the chairs across the aisle...duh, why can't you do that??

Madison was really excited to be at the airport. She really had fun watching the planes coming and going.

Luke, who is OBSESSED with airplanes, loved being at the airport.

Madison's Ariel backpack was full of her Bitty Baby, Hannah (who had to have her head sticking out of the bag), her favorite blanket, her favorite stuffed cat, and then Luke's favorite blanket and favorite duck. Then, her snack pack was attached to the back. While not that heavy, it was a little top-heavy for her. The airport security thought she was really funny.

Finally standing up with her backpack. She thought it was hilarious and after the first couple of falls were accidents, she then started "falling" all over the place.

Anyways, I'm just glad we're here.

I highly recommend no benadryl at all... it simply makes calvin more hyper! which in turn makes me incredibly more miserable.
