Our Sweet Boy Turns Two!

Luke entered our lives at 5:24 AM on April 7, 2007 after five hours of labor at Womack Army Medical Center, Ft. Bragg, NC. Weighing in at 8 lbs. 5 oz. and 21 inches long, he missed being classifed as a preemie by 5 hrs. 24 minutes. He arrived at 37 weeks, just making him a full-term baby (most deliver right at 40 weeks). Somehow, his 8 lbs. 5 oz. don't seem to say "preemie" size. It was rough pregnancy, although not nearly as bad as this one, with Edward gone the last few weeks, and a hard delivery. Luke was born OP, or face up, which doesn't allow him to bend his neck correctly during labor (and he had a HUGE head). He was less than two minutes from an emergency c-section, but luckily arrived via vacuum. My doc, a personal friend of ours, did a great job getting our little guy here.

Luke has been a blessing and a joy to us. He's got such a sweet personality and is very laid back. We kind of had that idea about him in the hospital, as we actually had to wake him to feed him...we are NOT the waking a sleeping baby type, but he was already sleeping four-five hour stretches at the hospital when just a few hours old. Luke loves to please people and loves to smile. He's generally just very happy and content.

Sizewise, Luke has always had a big build. He's been right in the 60th percentile for height and weight and 95th for head. He's got a husky build, looking identical to my dad. Edward and I envision him as a football or baseball lover because of his build. He seems to have the size to do well with those types of sports.

Luke idolizes Madison and just wants to be with her all the time. The two of them are really close and really enjoy each other. We only hope that continues.
Luke's Stats:
Weight-28 lbs.-he'll go in for his official two-year-old checkup whenever I walk over to the clinic with him :)

Size-2T in everything, size 7.5 or 8 shoe (big feet!)

Potty training-doing REALLY well! He's training himself mainly. We haven't pushed it, but he's been using the potty since around 17 months. He does really well and even will go at preschool.

Favorite foods-Tomatoes (VERY FAVORITE), grapes, oranges, steak, yogurt, Goldfish crackers

Least favorite food-mashed potatoes

Favorite movie-Cinderella-he likes the mice (yes, I know, he's a boy, but he has an older sister!)

Favorite shows-Diego and Wonder Pets

Favorite Words-No, Go, Go (says it everytime Diego comes on, as it's in the theme song for the show, Sadison (meaning Madison)

Favorite things-Dogs (hence the dog party), airplanes, trains, playing outside

Happy Birthday, Luke! We love you very much!

Happy Birthday, Luke! So funny to read his weight and clothing size. It's the exact same as Preston's, who is 3 years and almost 4 months. :-)
