A Surprise Lunch

by Madison and Luke

Last Friday before heading to Georgia to visit our cousins, we participated in a surprise lunch at Daddy's clinic. Daddy's boss had his last day at the clinic Friday. So, a surprise luncheon was planned for him. In the midst of the planning, Daddy's nurses called Mommy to tell her it was a surprise lunch not only for Daddy's boss, but for Daddy too. Since both of them are leaving so soon, their medical team decided to surprise them both. What made it so funny is that Daddy knew about the surprise for his boss, but he had no idea he was included in the surprise. We knew!

Lunch was great, especially the huge cake! We both love cake, and the staff were so sweet and made sure we had the first pieces.

Before we left the house...(this is the first time I ever let Mommy put a headband in my hair!)

...after the cake and minus the headband!

Man, this is good.

Wiped down, sadly I was messier than Luke for this meal.

It's so hard to believe our "good bye's" are starting! We're really going to miss Daddy's medical staff; they've been so great to us. He's been with them for three years, which is a little unusual for the Army. His team is setup with three staff doctors, one third-year resident (Daddy), one second-year resident (Dr. Julia, a friend of Daddy and Mommy), and three first-year residents. Then, they have four nurses who are AWESOME!

Not only are the people on Daddy's team so great to Daddy, they're great to us. We're seen on this team too by Daddy's boss. Most of the time, you're not allowed to be seen on the same team as your family member works, but we've always been able to do it. They were great throughout Mommy's pregnancy with Luke, and they've treated us so well for all visits. Madison has to find someone new to see for her three-year checkup, so she's planning to see Dr. Julia. Hopefully, she won't have any more accidents requiring medical attention!
