To end our visit with our Tennessee family, we took them to Coronado Island, San Diego prior to their flying home. The bad thing about living in Yuma is no reliable airport (we have an airport in Yuma, but they cancel flights all the time and then bus you to Phoenix or San Diego) is within three hours. The good thing is that both Phoenix and San Diego are exactly the same distance, so it doesn't really matter where people fly. My parents flew into Phoenix, so we explored there a little. Edward's parents flew into San Diego, allowing us to explore that city. We had big plans for a day at the zoo, but a monsoon rainstorm in "Sunny Southern California" ended that. Instead, we had lunch at a delicious Mexican restaurant we love over there and did a little sightseeing. We then stayed at our favorite hotel on the naval base at Coronado. We love it because it's oceanfront and since it's on the naval base, it's cheap and nice, which is a rarity in a very expensive city like San Diego. Plus, for a bustling city, vacationing on the naval base is relaxing and peaceful with a secluded and beautiful beach.
The rain finally stopped as the sun was setting on Coronado. While chilly, it was enjoyable.

Coronado isn't becoming, but has become our favorite vacation destination. We hope others get to come and enjoy it as we do.
